Waterloo – Wilfrid Laurier University has been named by Canada’s Top 100 Employers as one of Waterloo Area’s Top Employers in recognition of its high-quality workplace policies and programs.
“This recognition is a testament to the type of community and culture our staff and faculty have built together,” said Deborah MacLatchy, Laurier president and vice-chancellor. “It is through the expertise, enthusiasm and dedication of staff and faculty that we continue to deliver academic excellence for our students.”
Canada’s Top 100 Employers is an annual competition recognizing leading national and regional organizations that offer exceptional workplaces for their employees. Organizations selected for these awards redefine how people work and live by developing and adapting policies and procedures to meet the changing expectations of today’s workforce. While the recognition is awarded at a regional level, it is based on the university’s efforts across all of its multi-campus locations.
“This employer recognition is a validation of Laurier’s outstanding community-centred culture,” said Pamela Cant, assistant vice-president: Human Resources and Equity. “Our strong sense of community is an important part of what brings students to our campuses and attracts and retains our employees.”
