Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Our Waterloo campus is located in the thriving, culturally diverse community of Kitchener-Waterloo (KW), located one hour west of Toronto with a population of about 365,000.
With two universities and a college, this "university town" is a vibrant and student-friendly city with plenty of off-campus housing, entertainment, dining and recreational opportunities. And a new light rail transit system will make it easier than ever to get around.
KW is part of Waterloo Region, which is home to the largest grouping of technology companies in North America outside California. Our community has a reputation for innovation, where a new generation of entrepreneurs, who grew up in the age of Waterloo’s famous tech giant BlackBerry, are ready to invent the future. Communitech, an internationally recognized, industry-led innovation centre calls Waterloo home, as does Desire2Learn, OpenText, Shopify, Google, Oracle, Vidyard and Igloo.
